Irohazaka is the winding section of National Route 120 between the Nikko area and Oku-Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture. Plan the descent and rental-car return with the same care as the ascent. Leave enough daylight and fuel for the road back, especially if your collection point or accommodation is outside central Nikko. Before moving again after a viewpoint or rest stop, check mirrors, enter the route while parked and give passengers a moment to settle in.<\/p>\n
Irohazaka can be memorable because it combines mountain scenery with a demanding road. The best rental-car plan is simple: verify conditions, respect the one-way system, allow for queues and keep your eyes on the next curve.
